Pushing through, going from pain to purpose

Updated: Sep 28, 2018

Trust me when I tell you that your life’s success is not predicated on what people think about you, say about you, or do to you. It’s certainly not determined by whether you fit in. Sometimes your success will come as a direct result of not fitting in. When that happens, it's for a reason. Fitting and standing out will both happen to you in life at various times. As you gain more experience you will begin to discern, what season you are in, a fit in season or a stand out season. When you are in a fit in season it’s because you are uniquely designed to fit in to a place that God has called you to be and he has put you on assignment to do something that you alone have been created to do, no one on this planet will do it as well as you. That is called purpose and when only you can do it, it's called YOUR purpose. When you find your purpose(s) in life, you will have influence because your message, your invention, your actions, your gifts will all resonate with people. You will inspire them through your talent, advocacy, or abilities to improve their life and fulfill their own unique life plan. During those times when you don’t fit in, it's about recognizing that you are uniquely designed to NOT fit in. You will instead be an agent of change, born into this time in history, not by chance but by choice, God’s choice. When you begin to see your not fitting in as a call to action instead of a call to misery, loneliness and depression you will upend the world as we know it. You will change systems and bring out what is good in others through your work or your volunteerism. There are times in my life when I have been both, a part of the solution where I fit in nicely or considered a problem because I didn’t fit at all. No matter the situation, I have come to learn that I was right where I was supposed to be.
